The Continual Improvement Process (CIP) applies to all divisions of our customer and enables the capturing of data relating to identified risks, findings from audits and nonconforming product inclusive of risk rating, root cause analysis, identification, and elimination of root causes, including verification of effectiveness of implemented actions.

Objectives

  • Design, configure and implement a SharePoint solution to streamline and automate the capture of data across the organisation

The Solution

We designed a custom Power App User Interface for Desktop and mobile, leveraging SharePoint as the back end. The solution provided the customer with the ability to capture data via an online form and store it in a centralised SharePoint list. The solution also provided automatic allocation of sequential CIP numbers, calculation of initial and residual risk rating outcomes, and capture of total labour hours and material costs.

To ensure that the parties involved in the CIP process were reminded of pending and overdue tasks, we included the ability to send reminders and notifications on key dates. The solution also followed a set process as set out in an agreed workflow, ensuring that the CIP process was consistent and efficient.

The solution allowed our customer to report on key metrics, using their existing Power BI infrastructure. This provided real-time insights into the CIP process and enabled informed decisions and the ability to take action as needed. We also provided the ability to manage low-risk and high-risk items as a separate process. This allowed the team to prioritise items based on their risk rating, ensuring that high-risk items were addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
